“Rhythm-a-ning: A tribute to the music of Thelonious Monk”
In early 2009 I made a series of re-arrangements of compositions by Thelonious Monk. Monk has always been a strong influence on my composition and performing style/philosophy, so I wanted to “pay my dues”, so-to-speak. The re-arrangements are written in my own personal style, not as any kind of Monk-esque parody - I am a Monk interpreter, not impersonator!
